Blockchain has many applications in the digital world. The art industry, for example, uses it to facilitate nonfungible tokens, or "NFTs." These digital certificates of authenticity provide virtual artworks with verifiable proof of ownership and enable them to be traded online. NFTs are unique and cannot be copied. And blockchain's public nature means that anyone with an internet connection can look at the artworks they represent.
Which, for NFT owners and enthusiasts, gives these tokens a value beyond merely possessing and enjoying a work of art: it allows them to participate in the creative process, and to experience art as part of an interconnected community. What's more, the artists themselves benefit from receiving royalties whenever one of their digital works is resold.
Blockchain technology is changing the way we buy, sell, support, enjoy, and even create art, since it decentralizes and automates these interactions.
Alongside crypto art, this collection of works by 18 international artists includes interactive installations enriched with augmented reality - and conventional pieces that play with the possibilities of blockchain.
In a world of constant change and digital transformation, The Poetry of Blockchain is a unique opportunity for visitors to explore the disruptive shift that blockchain technology has sparked in art and culture - a merging of the digital and the analog into something completely new.
